how I do the work

another way is possible

decolonisation & antiracism

I find it important to talk about capitalist, colonial patriarchy and the issues of mainstream spirituality. Even with the best intentions, we can create pain and collude with old oppressive systems. I will be mentioning people who I follow and from whom I learn about the work of decolonisation and anti-racism, the actions I am taking and the way I operate in order for me to be actively involved in shifting the paradigm in which we live today.

I invite you to join me and do the work of unlearning, sharing, redistributing and co-creating a new world. Another way is possible. We cannot move forward and restore balance and harmony unless we do the collective shadow work.

  • This is not an exhaustive list and as people join my profile, I will be sharing more. So please do support, follow and donate as well if you can.
  • Dedicating a page on my new website to these topics and how our own self-healing, spiritual journey and the collective suffering are really not inseparable.
  • Returning back to the Me and White Supremacy journal that I have completed whilst doing a book club circle to dig deeper and keep my actions less harmful. Expanding on my commitments. I highly recommend getting this book, doing the journal, joining a circle if you can find one, and following Layla Saad’s work.
  • Read more books such as White Tears/Brown Scars: How White Feminism Betrays Women of Colour by Ruby Hamad & Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge. I will be listing more as we go along and dedicating posts to my personal learnings & reflections.
  • Follow antiracism & decolonisation educators, watch & go to their talks, buy their books, download their workbooks & support their work: @resmaamenakem, @alokvmenon, @dr.rosalesmeza
